Dante Pagano

» “Dante Pagano’s real name was Dan Fleming, but he apparently didn’t think that name was cool enough. He was a great soundman and he maintained a commanding presence behind the sound board.

“He refused to let anyone violate his work space, and on more than one occasion I watched as walked back to the board after a break, stopped for just a moment to eyeball the row of beer bottles and drinks – many still full – that patrons had parked on the edge of his board, and then with one sweep of his hand knocked them all off into a trashcan.

“He then looked around slowly to see if anyone would challenge his bold move before he resumed his position behind the board. No one ever did.

“Dante Pagano was certainly a better name for such a character.”
